U12s snatch it at the death against Kilcarra
The U12s left it late — very late — to beat Kilcarra Celtic 3–2 at Ashbrook Park on Sunday morning, in a game they'd trailed twice.
Kilcarra scored inside five minutes and again just before the break, and for twenty minutes after half-time it looked like the unbeaten start was over. Then Tadhg Byrne pulled one back from the edge of the box, Ben Okafor levelled from the spot after a foul on Walsh, and with the referee looking at his watch a corner from Byrne found Walsh at the back post.
Manager Dermot Fitzpatrick: “We were second to everything in the first half and we told them so. The response was everything you'd want from a group of eleven-year-olds. They didn't panic.”
The win keeps the U12s top of Division 3 with five games played. Next up is Brookvale Rovers away.
